Dive sites in Egypt

Resting upside down along the sloping reef of Sha'ab Mahmoud, the British steamship SS Dunraven broke apart on Beacon Rock while en route from Bombay to Newcastle. Sunlight pierces through fractures in the inverted hull to illuminate cavernous interior spaces. Divers descend to the stern and propeller, pass through the boiler room, and exit near the bow reef.

Sunk by German bombers in October 1941, the armed merchant vessel SS Thistlegorm rests upright on the seabed of the northern Red Sea. The wreck contains its original military cargo, including Bedford trucks, BSA and Norton motorcycles, Lee-Enfield rifles, Bren gun carriers, aircraft parts, and steam locomotives blown off the deck during the blast. Divers inspect the exposed stern and anti-aircraft guns before entering the multi-level cargo holds.

Tobia Arbaa, known as the Seven Pillars, features coral pinnacles rising from a sandy plateau in Safaga Bay. Divers navigate between these towers, which are encrusted with soft and hard corals sheltering reef life. Sandy channels between the pinnacles harbor benthic rays and bottom dwellers.
