Dive-site story
Sunk by German bombers in October 1941, the armed merchant vessel SS Thistlegorm rests upright on the seabed of the northern Red Sea. The wreck contains its original military cargo, including Bedford trucks, BSA and Norton motorcycles, Lee-Enfield rifles, Bren gun carriers, aircraft parts, and steam locomotives blown off the deck during the blast. Divers inspect the exposed stern and anti-aircraft guns before entering the multi-level cargo holds.
