Dive-site story
What makes this site worth diving
Resting on her port side at depths of 16 to 42 meters outside Larnaca harbor, the MS Zenobia sank on her maiden voyage in June 1980 with over 100 articulated lorries. The 172-meter Swedish Challenger-class ferry gives recreational divers access to the starboard side, superstructure, and upper lorry deck, while technical divers can penetrate the engine room and lower car decks. Dusky groupers, barracuda schools, and sea turtles patrol the hull.
Cargo decks holding over 100 commercial trucks chained in place
A 172-meter hull with intact propellers and bow thrusters
Overhead penetration routes through the cafeteria, bridge, and engine room
Resident dusky groupers and schooling barracuda along the structure

Plan this dive with care
- Penetration into internal corridors and engine spaces requires overhead training and gas planning.
- At 42 meters, the wreck's deep side presents narcosis risks and requires decompression monitoring.
- Silt on vehicle decks ruins visibility instantly if disturbed by improper finning.
