Dive-site story
Located off the southern coast of Karaada near Bodrum, Paçoz Bay holds an intentionally scuttled Douglas C-47 Dakota military transport aircraft. Sunk as an artificial reef project, the plane rests across a sloping sandy seabed. Winter swells have separated the fuselage and wings over time, leaving open sections to inspect alongside adjacent rocky drop-offs.
Intact cockpit and detached fuselage sections across the sand
Mediterranean groupers and moray eels sheltering inside the airframe
