Dive-site story
HMS Maori, a British Tribal-class destroyer that assisted in sinking the German battleship Bismarck, sank after being bombed at anchor in Grand Harbour in 1942. Its bow section lies on a silty seabed in Marsamxett Harbour outside Valletta. Divers step in from the rocky shelf below Fort St. Elmo and follow sandy patches directly to the forward hull and bridge.
