Dive-site story
Off the northwest coast of Naxos near the islet of Graviera, this reef surrounds the rock formation known locally as Frouros, or The Guard. Granite boulders, fissures, and overhangs support encrusting sponges and algae. Ancient ceramic fragments wedged into deep crevices mark historical Cycladic maritime routes, while cuts and swim-throughs guide divers along ledges populated by Mediterranean marine life.
